Mersch - vehicle construction –
The name Mersch has stood for high quality for more than 100 years.
The Mersch company has provenly been in business since 16 April 1894 starting out as a blacksmith's in which later horse-drawn vehicles and farm vehicles were made.
In the course of time, the smithy's activities shifted more and more to making and repairing vehicle bodies and trailers. In 1970 the company moved to its present location at Taubenstrasse number 51.
In 1972 , the conclusion of a contract with Magirus Deutz (later IVECO) led to the creation of the utility vehicle service.
This year also saw the conclusion of a test shop contract in compliance with § 57b and § 57d of the Motor Vehicle Construction and Uses Regulations (CUR) with Mannesmann VDO Kienzle.
In 1993 an AL-KO service contract was concluded with Alois Kober GmbH.

In 1998 a service contract was concluded with Kässbohrer Transport Technik and this year also saw the expiry of the contract with IVECO and a new shop contract was agreed with MAN Nutzfahrzeuge.
In 1999 the existing Bosch brake service contract was terminated its place being taken by a new brake service and an OEM contract concluded with WABCO Fahrzeugbremsen.
The company has today a workforce of 60 people working on 10,000m² of business premises. The vehicle construction sector produces around 50 passenger car transporter superstructures, approximately 40 passenger car transport trailers and about 150 trailers for municipal vehicles.
